What to wear
A matching navy velvet jumpsuit, c/o everyone’s new favorite brand, LPA.
Start by applying Colourpop Cosmetics Shadow in Too Shy in the inner corner of the eye, blending out about 3/4 of the way across the lid, then smudge a small amount of Colourpop Cosmetics Shadows in Liberty in the tear duct. In the crease, blend a combination of Natasha Denona’s Blue Spruce and Colourpop’s Luckfully starting where the first shadow ended, creating the wedge shape on the outer edge of the eye. Once you’ve got your desired shape on the outer corner, use a small brush or your finger to blur the line between the lighter and darker blues. Taking the same small brush, apply a combination of Blue Spruce and Luckfully to the lower lash line, bringing the color all the way to the tear duct. Line the top and bottom waterline with Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Eye Crayon in Wave(Length) before lining the top lashline with the same shade, using a small brush to lightly smudge the line. Make sure to open up the eyes by applying mascara, like Serge Lutens’ Comb Mascara, to the top and bottom lashes. Clean up any fallen shadow using a makeup wipe before moving onto your face
With such a strong eye, you want a sheer base that allows some skin to show through, so opt for a medium coverage foundation that can be built up, like YSL’s Le Teint Touche Eclat Foundation for normal to dry skin or Diorskin Forever Perfect Makeup for more oily complexions. If you have any imperfections still peaking through, use a stiff concealer brush to apply your shade of Laura Mercier’s Secret Camouflage Palette, and if your skin is on the oilier side, set with a translucent powder. Apply a small amount of MAC Strobe Cream to the high points of the face, then blend a small amount of Kjaer West Cream Blush Compact in Blossoming, a peachy nude hue, onto the apples of cheeks with your fingers.
Rounding out the face is Hourglass Femme Nude Lip Stylo in No. 4, a pink-beige with hints of rose. It’s creamy and has the perfect satin texture. Apply straight from the bullet, then use your fingers to press in the color and give it an effortless finish.
